The purpose of Amrut scheme is to ensure that every household has access to a tap with assured supply of water and a sewage connection. The BMC has decided to augment city’s water supply and sewerage management network under this scheme.The BMC has proposed to spend Rs 16,210 crore on the Gargai (Rs 1,820 crore) and Pinjal (Rs 14,390 crore water supply projects. For this, the civic body will be undertaking laying of 10 water supply and 57 sewage lines across the city.Of the total Rs 28,664 crore works, the BMC will spend Rs 17,505 crore on water supply works and Rs 11,159 crore on sewerage lines connections across the city.
The details of the expenditure have been submitted to Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran, the state’s water supply and sanitation department.Under the Centre’s Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (Amrut), Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to provide water and sewerage connection in every household in China Motor Water Pumps Factory the city.
